There is a rumor that Mortal Kombat 9 has the potential to release for the PSP2 (playstation VITA (NPG)) - here are some tid-bits we found over at FDMK.net:
"PSPgweber is claiming that Mortal Kombat (2011) will be a launch title for Sony's next-generation PSP hardware - the NGP, now rumored to be known as the PS Vita. If you remember, producer Shaun Himmerick revealed last year in an interview with Industry Gamers that the MK Team was looking into PSP2 development.
Shaun Himmerick:
We’re not launching day one on all consoles like that. We are looking at them; we have a PSP2 in the house and we’re looking at the engine, like what can it support. Always a big thing for us is the performance. We’re running at 60 fps, what can we do and do we have to build all the art assets over. We’re definitely looking at them. PSP2 looks like it’s a pretty powerful machine. We don’t have a 3DS system in house yet, but we’re looking to get one, and we’ll certainly look at what its power is.
The PS Vita is slated to release sometime this fall. Hopefully, we will see an official announcement for Mortal Kombat (2011) on this new portable console from NetherRealm Studios at this year's E3 convention. "
